What? When did we become a family of four?
Ryan and I have been married since 2004 and I have loved every minute of being married to that man. He is kind, compassionate, loving, and fiercely protective. He makes me laugh, is loved by everyone and places his family first. The thing I love most about him is his love for the Lord. He spurs me on to deepen my relationship with Jesus and sharpens me with encouragement, scripture and prayer. He is a wonderful pastor but... he is even better at being daddy and husband.
Samuel was born in 2008 and fills our lives daily with laughter and joy. He is 100% boy and hits the ground running as soon as he wakes up. He is sweet, compassionate, fun and very loud. His ability to retain information astounds us. He is thoughtful, loves to sing and dance and does not understand personal space. He is timid when he first meets people but warms up quickly and wins everyone over with his charm.
Corrie blessed us in 2011 with her sweet self! I can't say enough about this girl. She has melted our hearts in ways I could not have imagined. She is so so so fun and oh so sweet. Already we can tell she is laid back, independent, content and loving. She is doing things in her own time and doesn't ever seem in a rush. She loves eating... I mean LOVES eating, we are not sure where she puts it. But her favorite thing in this world is her brother and we pray their relationship grows closer and closer.
We do not have a perfect life. I do not claim to be a perfect mom or a perfect wife. I mess up, I speak too harshly, I am critical, I am selfish and I fail everyday. But I am thankful that I serve a God who looks at me and sees me as His perfect daughter. God loved me so much that he sent Jesus to pay for my sins so that I could stand before Him and claim the righteousness of Christ. I no longer have to feel condemnation for not being "perfect", I just need to rest in the grace of a loving God. And that is awesome.
